In May 2013 Sudelac launched its newest product the CasingIDTOOL. The tool allows operators/contractors to quickly and accurately measure the ID of casing and liner to more precisely determine the real displacement capacity rather than relying on nominal ID volumetric tables. Knowing the real ID and more likely displacement capacity can significantly assist in plug bump efficiency, a key event in casing or liner installation and cementation. Bumping the plug can improve the quality of the cementing operation, allow an immediate pressure test, save time and lead to better long term well integrity. Some operators had already been using two point calipers or other devices to try to measure the pipe ID but the CasingIDTOOL is faster and more accurate as well as easier to use. In the first week of launch one North Sea operator rented a tool to trial on an HPHT liner job. During the first month two operators committed to purchasing tools and others indicated a willingness to trial it. Sudelac is delighted with the response to the launch of this new product.
